1. Use of the App

1.1 Eligibility

By using our App, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. If you are under 18, you must have obtained parental or guardian consent. Users under 13 are not permitted to use this App.

1.2 Account Registration

The App offers anonymous, Google, and Apple Sign-In options. Anonymous accounts store data locally on your device. Google and Apple Sign-In enable cloud backup and cross-device sync. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and account credentials.

1.3 Acceptable Use

You agree to use our App in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms. You shall not:

• Use our App for any unlawful or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our App or any associated systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our App
• Attempt to reverse engineer or extract our algorithms

2. Your Data

2.1 Session Data

You retain ownership of all session data you create in the App. Your data is stored locally on your device by default. Cloud backup is available for signed-in premium users.

2.2 Health Estimates

The App provides sweat loss, hydration, and health benefit estimates based on published research studies. These estimates are for informational purposes only and are not medical advice. See Section 5 for important health disclaimers.

2.3 Social Sharing

The App can generate shareable images from your session data. When you share these images to third-party platforms (Instagram, Twitter, etc.), you are responsible for your use of those platforms. Shared images may include App branding.

2.4 Data Deletion

You may delete your data at any time. Local data can be deleted by uninstalling the App or clearing app data. To delete cloud backup data and your account, see our Account Deletion page.

3. Intellectual Property

Our App, including all content, features, functionality, and user interface, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use our App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

4. Premium Features and Subscription

4.1 Free and Premium Tiers

The App offers both free and premium tiers. Free users have access to core functionality with certain limitations. Premium subscribers unlock additional features and remove limitations. Current features and limitations for each tier are displayed within the App and may change over time.

4.2 Trial Period

New users receive a free trial of premium features. The trial is tied to your device and cannot be restarted by reinstalling the App. After the trial expires, premium features are locked until you subscribe.

4.3 Referral Program

Users may share referral codes to invite others. Both the referrer and new user may receive bonus trial days when a valid code is redeemed. Referral rewards may be modified or discontinued at any time.

Note: The referral program is currently only available on Android. iOS users cannot generate or redeem referral codes at this time.

4.4 Payment and Refunds

Subscription payments are processed through your device's app store (Google Play or Apple App Store). Refund policies are governed by the respective app store policies.

5. Health Disclaimer

5.2 Research-Based Estimates

Health benefit estimates displayed in the App are based on population-level research, primarily the Finnish KIHD cohort study and cold exposure meta-analyses. These are associations observed in studies, not guaranteed outcomes for individuals. Key limitations:

• Most evidence is observational (associations, not proven causation)
• Primary studies were conducted on Finnish men; results may vary for other demographics
• Individual results depend on many factors not tracked by the App

5.3 Research Interpretation

Health benefit information presented in this App represents our good-faith interpretation of published scientific literature. We are not medical researchers, and our summaries may contain errors, oversimplifications, or misinterpretations. Scientific understanding evolves continuously, and findings cited may be revised, disputed, or superseded by future research. Users should not rely solely on information in this App when making health decisions.

5.4 Consult a Healthcare Provider

Consult a qualified healthcare provider before starting any sauna, cold exposure, or thermal therapy practice, especially if you have cardiovascular conditions, are pregnant, take medications, or have other health concerns.

5.5 Safety

You are solely responsible for your safety during sauna and cold exposure sessions. The App provides estimates and tracking, but cannot monitor your physical condition. Stop any session immediately if you feel unwell.

6. Third-Party Services

Our App integrates with third-party services including:

• Firebase for authentication
• RevenueCat for subscription management
• Cloud services for data backup

We are not responsible for the availability or policies of these third-party services.

7. Notifications

The App may send push notifications for session reminders, streak alerts, and hydration prompts. You can enable or disable notifications in the App settings or your device settings at any time.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

8.1 Service Availability

We do not guarantee that our App will always be available, error-free, or free from interruptions.

8.2 Data Loss

While we implement security measures to protect your data, we cannot guarantee against data loss due to device failure, software bugs, or other technical issues. We recommend using cloud backup for important data.

8.3 Disclaimer of Warranties

Our App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8.4 Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with the use or inability to use our App, including but not limited to loss of data, reliance on health estimates, or any physical harm related to sauna or cold exposure activities.

9. App Updates and Changes

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue any features of the App with or without notice. The App may update automatically on your device when a new version is available.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Zen Zero Pty Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or related to your use of our App or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our App at any time and for any reason without prior notice or liability. Upon termination, your local data will remain on your device unless you choose to delete it.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction where Zen Zero Pty Ltd is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Website and Blog Content

13.1 Website Use

Our website (altaflip.com) provides information about the App, blog content related to sauna and cold exposure practices, and links to download the App. The website is provided for informational and promotional purposes.

13.2 Blog Content

Blog articles and educational content on our website are protected by copyright. You may:

• Share links to blog posts freely
• Quote brief excerpts with proper attribution and a link to the original article

You may not:

• Reproduce, republish, or redistribute substantial portions of our content without written permission
• Use our content for commercial purposes without permission
• Remove or alter any copyright notices or attributions

13.3 Content Accuracy

We strive for accuracy in our blog posts and website content, but we cannot guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Content may contain:

• Errors, oversimplifications, or misinterpretations of scientific research
• Information that may become outdated as new research emerges
• General information that may not apply to your specific situation

We are not medical researchers, and our summaries of scientific literature represent good-faith interpretations that may be revised as understanding evolves.

14. Miscellaneous

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Zen Zero Pty Ltd regarding the use of our App and website. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
